Some fall day

Today

I awake to the fall sun

warmth where sheltered

and the dog and I just walk

along the beach

savouring time and silence

time to simply be adrift in our thoughts

and I don’t pretend to wonder what his might be…

I work out, come home, cook

enjoy the simple things

clean my aquariums

marvel at babies, shrimp and new baby plants

then pack my to-go cup and

out we go again into this brilliant fall

with it’s weak but still warm sun

and no breeze

wander through the village

buy tea and simply sit

One handed reading journal articles,

the other giving the dog a head massage

waiting for a friend

….our dogs get along to our delight and wander off again

talking of everything from patients to squirrels the dogs can’t tear themselves away from

then hours later

thoroughly exhausted come home

to look up the chiton shell found on the beach

and barely move

streched out on the bed

content and bone tired.

Recharged, life in kilter…

an easy day when you rest your weary soul.
